You've really found a new angle on your photos with working out how best to use the low winter light.

Maybe the lesser the light, the better the atmosphere captured by the lens.

That surely is some 'sparse' grass! Reading Gordon's comment, is your camera a phone/camera? Those are difficult to get decent shots with, usually, so that's pretty clear:) Jan

I don't think I've quite cracked it yet - but it's an enjoyable challenge! (And I'll get there!)

Jan - this is, indeed, sparse grass.

It was growing by the edge of a path, below the patch of rough, tough grass in the previous picture. It's interesting how the terrain changes within only a few inches.
