Great picture, you capture light so well. 'The Death of Grass' by John Christopher was a book that influenced me when I was younger so I never think of it is as 'just grass'.
Hi Lucy, I love the rainbow at the top of the picture. I love grass, and quite miss it, but I got sick of mowing and weeding it so got rid of it all and now it's just garden and paths. Even the nature strip is now a sandy desert effect. I love looking at your photos, they are truly emotion-inducing artforms. Hermes, I don't know that book, I will look it up. I have become fascinated by garden references in literature.
Hermes - I don't know that book either and, like Catmint - I'll have to look it up.
(Incidentally, when I gave this photo its title, I was meaning 'just' in the sense that this is the entire content of the picture - in other words, putting it centre stage, not intending to diminish it - quite the opposite!)
Catmint - it's interesting to know what people do and don't like.
Barbee commented on the houses in the photo of the Reel and Barrel . . . and I was annoyed with myself that I hadn't found a way to exclude the houses from the scene!
And I nearly didn't include this grass one because I worried the rainbow made it too sentimental!

Hello Hermes and Catmint
Hermes - I don't know that book either and, like Catmint - I'll have to look it up.
(Incidentally, when I gave this photo its title, I was meaning 'just' in the sense that this is the entire content of the picture - in other words, putting it centre stage, not intending to diminish it - quite the opposite!)

Lucy
too sentimental for one person is another's not-sentimental- enough. (ancient Chinese proverb I just made up)
What a good idea, Catmint! I think I'll start doing that too!
Lucy
