That surely is some 'sparse' grass! Reading Gordon's comment, is your camera a phone/camera? Those are difficult to get decent shots with, usually, so that's pretty clear:) Jan
It was growing by the edge of a path, below the patch of rough, tough grass in the previous picture. It's interesting how the terrain changes within only a few inches.

You've really found a new angle on your photos with working out how best to use the low winter light.
Maybe the lesser the light, the better the atmosphere captured by the lens.
