I hope this World War Two gun-emplacement (that's what I take it to be!) was well out of use by the 1950s!
Hello Tyra. I'm glad you have found your way back to Pictures Just Pictures. I had a time without a camera so had to stop posting for a while - but now I am happily in action again.
Hello Luis and Faye - so much is in the angle of any shot, don't you think?
Pat, yes, much history attached to this gun-site. There are lots of war remains round here - pillboxes (do you know them? - horrid little concrete shelters with lookout windows where soldiers (or home guard members?)stood to watch for landings, 'tank teeth' to stop tanks being brought onto shore, anti-aircraft gun bases, even a ship sunk across the entrance of a harbour to create an under-water barricade against submarines and other ships. It's weird to have these crumbling around us - but good for us too - so we don't forget.

Clever title Lucy. More Govt cuts (but from the 50's probably)!
Great shot Lucy, I've missed you! Glad to have found my way back to you.

What a great angle for this image!
A nice photo of a site that has some history attached to it...
Great perspective ... the angle
works perfectly.
