A great combination of colours and texture :)

This reminds me of an American flag. Red,white and blue. :)

The ribbons in my post the other day where patriotic symbols on display for a neighborhood celebration. There are lots of revolutionary war historical sites in this area.

Very well paired.

Faye - about the texture of the rope - I can only credit the weather for creating it!

Hermes - Isn't it good that we can examine detail in a rope better in a picture than in real life? At least, that is so in public. I was already a bit self-conscious when I took this because, having arrived on the beach when it was empty, I went in between the upright boats to take photos then, when people came by and I popped out . . . I did feel a bit awkward!

Hello Luis, Nat, Chuck and Marka - glad you like the rope. I'm also fascinated by the nail which seems to be sticking out of it but which I didn't notice when I took the photo.

Hello James.

How interesting that you associate the colours in the boat-and-rope photo with the American flag. The colours of our Union Flag are the same but that is not likely to be far up in British minds when we see them. Not for many of us anyway! We don't have the same kind of patriotism.

Thanks for letting me know about the bows in your photo. Once again . . . contrast with what would be likely to happen in England! Fascinating.
