What does it feel like when you walk on it? Does it crunch, or is it slippery?

My feet feel cold just looking at it. Lovely texture and pattern Lucy.

I wasn't aware sand could freeze. An interesting shot!

Hello Three Rivers.

The sand didn't crunch and it wasn't slippy. It was as hard as walking along the pavement and my feet went tap, tap on it, just as if I were walking on stone. It was a bit eery.

Hello Sujomi.

It was cerainly a cold day - though very bright and sunny too.

The new blogger editor is annoying. I like the way we can post bigger pictures but, when clicked, they don't come up as crisply as they did when smaller - otherwise you would see the texture was even better than it looks here.

Hello Meredith.

I'd never seen frozen sand before either. It must have been unusually cold because this is sand by the sea and, therefore, salty.

I didn't think sand would freeze either - with it being all salty. Then I wondered if ice bergs are made of frozen sea - which makes frozen sand seem less freakish.

Hello Easy Gardener.

I hadn't thought of that. At the same time . . . the arctic is probably colder than Weymouth. (So far!)
