I took this photo in Dorchester on a not-the-market-today day.
I think these pens would have been used for cattle but, although Dorchester market is very vibrant and busy, I don't think they sell livestock there any more.
I don't like hustle and bustle and crowds so I have never been into the market itself when it is 'on' - just passed it on a bus or the pavement. Some day I'll have to get up the courage to go and look around properly!
Are animals still sold in Frome market, Hermes? I thought I'd heard the sale of cattle had been moved outside the town.

Interesting market stall! For wich animals is it?
Not Frome Market is it ? The stalls look similar and I have often been on a Sunday to their car boot sale.

Hi Lucy, not sure about Frome as I only go at weekends and don't like animal markets anyway - make me feel sad.
Hermes - I understand why animal markets may make you sad but I love them. Cattle best, then local vegetables. Last - rows of T-shirts and cheap macs.
