Thats an unusual lamp design, not seen one like that before. Like the contrastr with that rather overcast sky.

Hello Hermes.

It always seems to be raining or overcast when I go into Dorchester!

This lampost is set in the pavement I photographed last year (in the rain!):-

outside the old brewery which is being mostly demolished and turned into a shopping centre (plus lots of cafes) and where I photographed

another lamp:-

I remember one day, a few years ago, I went from Dorchester to Weymouth. On the Dorchester side of the Ridgeway, it was raining. In Weymouth, people were walking around in shorts and sunglasses - and the towns are only nine miles apart. It's amazing what a big hill can do to the weather.

Hello Bentonflocke.

I hope it is a good memory.

Like how you've got the lamp to be taller than the building.

I like all the geometric shapes.

Hello Gordon and Barbee.

This is one of the advantages of a grey sky - the perspective is withdrawn and one is left with shapes.
