I love the light and the purple color of the water.
The light is golden, but there still seems to be a chill in the air.

Hello Hermes, The Weaver of Grass, Barbee and Philip . . . I'm trying to catch up on comments. I always read them at the time (with interest and pleasure) but often get behind with replies . . .

I'm very grateful to have such patient blogging friends!

The Rocky Water - the interesting thing is that although you are right in saying the afternoon light of winter is an important element in this photo . . . the rocks really are brown and unlike others I know.

I want to go back and walk on them again because I got the impression that, as I went across, the water squelched up and through them. But, in case it was something to do with my shoes rather than the porous nature of the rocks, I'll wear wellies next time.
