Yes, it was wintery when I took the Branches photo.
It had just started to rain.
Surprisingly, it wasn't as cold as it looks, though.
Elk, yes, it is a black and white photo - though the sky and the branches were exactly like this.
I wish I could have taken a not-black-and-white one too so I could have compared - but the rain was intensifying and I was worried about the camera-phone getting wet.
And my camera doesn't like black and white real-life pictures. It tries to superimpose its own colour scheme . . . which is strange because when the scene already has colour, it is very accurate.
The flight of concrete steps I posted a short while ago shows something of this. They've come out pink when, really, they're white. Maybe the camera-phone thinks white is boring. Odd.
Weaver of Grass - yes, it would have been very different if the sky had been blue. Imagine red!

Now that is really wintery. Mafde me shiver.
That's one angry sky! You can feel the chill.
brrrrr! that's quite a moody sky!
Moooordooor!
How menacing those branches look against such a dark sky. If the sky had been blue the effect would have been completely different wouldn't it?
my favorite part of the tree! nice shot -is it b/w?
