Hello Charlotte

So glad you like the photo(s).

Heard you and Freddie on Woman's Hour.

Didn't realise you have a blog.

(There's now a family move afoot to get your book!)

Hello Karen

Thanks for your return visit.

I'm pleased you like the photos.

I notice from the your comments on your blog you are doing some hedgerow gathering. I've just come in from a walk feeling very grumpy because there's a huge council lorry going along flailing ours - blackberries, damsons and all.

Grr!

Sepia makes the photo more intriguing.
Thanks for following my blog.
Heard from Esther. If her garden grows again, I will follow it as well as yours.

I love this picture. I love sepia. And I love images that take your imagination for a walk. Beautiful.

Lucy,
Your photography is wonderful. It's so interesting how you turn something mundane into a work of art. Enjoyed all!

It's an image that comes back to you from the past, making you feel you've been there... The magic of sepia...!

Hello
Ron,
Victoria,
Lauri,
Theresa
and Kanak

I'm glad you like the Path to Littlesea.

I too am drawn to sepia but try not to use it often because it changes the atmosphere when, with these photos, I'm trying to convey what is there, whether we usually notice it or not.

I took a colour version too - but with that, the ugly fence on the right dominates the scene - even though you hardly notice it if you are there yourself - the path and the view ahead draw you forwards to the sand and the mud and the eel grass and the water; possibly to the hill on the horizon. The eye simply edits out the fence.

In sepia, it almost vanishes but the ripple of its shape enhances the picture instead of detracting from it.

Kanak, Victoria and Ron

- thank you for becoming 'followers' of PICTURES JUST PICTURES . It's good to see your icons on the blog.

(Victoria, did you know you have turned into a shadowy silhouette?)

Thanks Chey.

I'm thinking I might try some more shots like this as winter approaches . . . and see what happens!
