Thanks for stopping by. Organics supply nutrients in a much lower amount than synthetic. Also, synthetic is available to be taken up by the plant immediately while organics are not. In a pot I can't see organic supplying enough nutrients to make a good tomato crop. Tell your friend if she really wants to use organic in a pot try spraying it on the leaves as well as watering with it. Plants will take in nutrients through foliar feeding.

Thanks for the suggestion, Hunky Gardener.

The one I've been using has specific instructions not to get it on the leaves.

I'll stick with organic but look for a different method of application.
