Lucy Corrander said...: There's an awful lot going on in this wall. A lot of buddleia has been cut out of it too. (I think the woody remains down and to the left of this fern (facing the picture) is from buddleia.)

Bricks weather so interestingly, don't they?

Round here, a lot of the new houses have been built with bricks which weep black tar and it's so sad to see them getting 'worse' rather than 'better' with age.

There's so much of interest in this wall - and it's crucial that it continues to stand. It isn't a garden wall, it's a wall with a path on top and the path runs along in front of a terrace - the front doors open onto the path. If the wall goes, the path goes and - well I hope the houses don't go too!
