I wonder how you get into designing non slip step materials - do you take a degree in it - a science or engineering. It was never mentioned at my career interviews.
Easy Gardener - I'm really enjoying your comment. There must be so many jobs like this that don't usually figure in careers guidance (at least, they never did when people suggested what I should do with my life). I'm going around now imagining Monty Python type interviews with people coming in asking to train for all sorts of surprising careers . . . designing the backs of wardrobes, working out the load bearing capacity of rubbish bins, the length of knitting needles, the size of paving stones, deciding how fast doors should swing back in your face when you are going into shops, the inside of shoe boxes, the colour of hooks on cranes . . . it's a wonderful new world of speculation!
