It was a wonderful autumn experience, walking through these trees. The path was nearly two miles long. Sometimes it was straight, as in the photo, sometimes it bent round, giving the impression it was about to end . . . but then it went on.
The best moments were when gusts of wind went through the trees. They might last only three seconds each . . . then there was a pause . . . then, each time, there air was filled with brightly coloured, floating-down leaves.
Noelle - the leaves on the ground were stunning, both in the depth and variety of their colour. They were wet (every so often there was a burst of rain) so they didn't rustle and I couldn't kick them along - but they shone!

Now that is how I think of Autumn. I would love to walk that path.
I took this photo yesterday, Hermes - and it was, indeed, wonderful to walk in those woods.

You have started me looking for "Autumn leaves" (and my favourite version is in French by Charles Aznavour)

I know him well, so that is a compliment to me!
Hello Lucy,
What a beautiful pathway. I love how autumn colored leaves on the ground add to the beauty.
Lovely autumn shot!
I just love how you see things. I don't think there's a single photo on here I didn't enjoy.

I like this picture a lot. Infact I took some just like it the other day. We must be on the same wave length.
Beautiful and lovely shot !! Nice post !! Thanks for sharing..Unseen Rajasthan
I would like to walk the path too. Interesting that the trees look very green and the leaves on the ground very brown - no mingling of colours!
Hello James.
I think we are on the same wavelength and it is interesting to see parallels in some of our photos.

Hello there from Unseen Rajasthan.
I'm glad you like the Beech Woods - colourful like your markets but much less people-full!

Hello Easy Gardener.
The autumn is slower than last year here and it is bringing some interesting effects. I am enjoying it a lot.
