Enchanting! But please share the name of this seedhead?

I want to blow on it! The definition of your lens is breathtaking.

That picture blew me away (no pun intended). The way you captured one seed in mid-flight is amzing!

Hello Meredehuit.

I'm sorry - but I don't know the name of the plant. The seed head is lovely. The plant is ugly.

In a post on my other blog (one with words in!) I explain how I can't tell the difference between many of the plants in this group. Here's the link.

Hello Hermes.

I am really please with this camera. It shows things I would never notice, sometimes not even see, with my naked eye. Bad luck with the last one led to this . . . so alls well . . .!

Hello Retired One.

It must be something to do with this particular year which is drawing up to seeds and pods. I have been putting a lot of effort into photographing seeds over the last month. Some have worked - a lot have not!

Hello Chuck.

As much as I enjoy your praise, I really should explain this seed clock was not in flight but still firmly stuck to its plant. It's just that the focus concentrates on the seeds almost to the exclusion of the stem.

There are lots of things in this picture I would never, ever have noticed if I hadn't happened to take this photo. It's cropped out of a much bigger one - the plant is ugly and the larger frame looks as if it's completely without interest. It's only when you dive in like this that you see the magic.

I love such photos. Good job. I loved to blow such seeds away when I was a child.
