Only in the south of England do the people get open topped public transport! I don't like how this one's empty - like a ghost bus..
In answer to last week's question (sorry I'm so slow!) the handle on top of the cup belonged to a little tea strainer. It looked very old, I thought it was a lovely touch. I will never be happy in starbucks again after having drank tea from that shop!
And I admit that the first shot on my post, of the trees and the road, is definitely better in colour! I'll probably post another one from the same place in full fujichrome colour. I like my stone circles in b&w though :)
I agree, it's very odd that it's empty. It was heading towards the places of touristy interest . . . don't seem to have been any interested tourists wanting to go there that day!
You are right. The open top buses will soon be put away for the winter. In theory, I miss them. In practice, going across a causeway on an open-top with an eastern wind blowing up the channel and rain pelting into one's eyes isn't an entirely pleasing experience.
Glad you noticed the flowers. They were what drew me to this scene in the first place and I lurked behind them until something interesting came by on the road . . . then the bus turned up.!

Now I can't drive Lucy, I rather love buses and on a good day would love to travel on this. People are really friendly on buses.
Except, on this one, the intriguing thing is that it's empty. There doesn't even appear to have been a driver, despite it whooshing past!
Lucy
Nice composition, and very intriguing photo. Has some mystery for sure.
Lucy thanks for visiting my blog...you happened upon my bento blog, most of my photos for the meme sites are on my Aqua Sunday blog.
I enjoy your photos very much!
Unique perspective on the bus.
I like to capture them but they
do whizz by.
What a great shot. I like all the elements, the empty bus, building, and flowers. The sky is also very dynamic.

How odd it's empty, but it's a beautiful composition. Thanks for visiting my blog!
What a strange sight - a ghost bus in daylight.
It will soon be too cold for the open top; nicely spotted and good viewpoint.
Lovely photo on the bus. Such a nice locking bus and composition in the frame.
I like how the flowers are in the first plan, nice photo!
The bus has done it job - it's leaving.
The brick building is what keeps drawing my eye.
Hello Lyndsey.
Isn't it interesting that, in the right light, something perfectly ordinary, like a bus going by, can seem slightly menacing . . . mysterious.
Lucy
Hello Faye.
Yes, this was whizzing too so I don't know how anything focussed . . . it just did!
Lucy
Hello Carver.
I like it that you notice the elements in the picture beyond the bus. They are equally important.
Lucy
Hello Kitty.
It can be quite blowy on top of a bus like this, even in the south of England. Enormous fun though!

Hello Woody.

Hello Dragonstar.
I hadn't seen it as a Ghost Bus until you suggested the idea. Now I can't see it any other way.

Hello John.

Hello @nemonen.
Glad you like the bus photo!

Hello Ewa.

Lucy
Hello Rune . . . maybe it's left its passengers waiting because . . . this is the direction for going!
Lucy
Hello Cheryl.
Glad you noticed the building. That and the street sign between it and the bus are crucial to the picture.
Lucy
B/W always grabs me when done so artistically, Lucy.
