Lucy lovely image, maybe autumn where you are, can assure you it's still cold up here. Brass Monkeys Cold, not a leaf to be seen, should have stopped down south but was missing winter, cheers
Hello Adrian.
I sympathise with you feeling homesick for winter. This is the first year since I moved down south that I have experienced anything remotely resembling it. Trouble is, I've been down here so long now, I think I'd find properly hard winters a bit of a shock to the system and rather a challenge.
I expect you will be back south at sometime, maybe when the days grow longer?
Lucy
I see what you mean, but a lot of those leaves look like new growth. Definately milder here today.
Hello Hermes.
Milder here too - but it doesn't want to stop gently raining.
Old leaves and new growth - bramble leaves have remained all through the winter and there hasn't been a moment, even in the coldest weather, when something hasn't been new and growing. Buddleia leaves have been like little bows all the way through. Nature didn't stop for a moment's rest!
Gorse (well, there's always some gorse thinking it's the right moment to flower!) is bursting out yellow at present.
There seems to be brief lull in nettle activity but that appears to be the only concession the relentless creep of green is making to the season.
Lucy
It's always interesting when the seasons overlap.
