i love Autumn,
my preference is the top picture - the second is too small for me.

They both look OK to me. The smaller one looks as if it is a lower res. than the big one. I sympathise: I'm hopeless at judging how a pic is going to look. Sometimes I've used pictures and only noticed when I've seen them on my blog that the quality isn't as good as I thought it was.
But I love autumn!

The top one is so good I can all but hear the leaves crackle underfoot!

The enlarged shot is very nice, provided lots more detail, and it's very clear. :)

This is an extremely pretty autumn picture :) and both the small and the big photo look equally crisp on my screen. I prefer the bigger version just because its bigger...

I am with the rest of the commentors....the top picture is far better, the small one is really small.

Bigger is definitely better! I use Google blogger. Where do I find this as I do internal adjustments that require a calculator to get my photos larger?

Hey,
Autumn is one of my favorite times of year. Spring is the other.
I like the bigger image, but I like bigger anyway. I like to see without straining. Sometimes you miss things in smaller images.

They both look ok - but as your blog fills the full width of my wide screen monitor the bigger pic looks far better, particularly when you are emphasising pictures not text.

No apologies needed!

I'm casting my vote for the bigger picture.

I'm with the bigger one Lucy. I like Autumn but a rather wild ride today on the first day of the month.

The larger one is easier on the eyes and looks sharper... so sharp I can hear the crunch under foot. Also appreciate the link to original size.

I like bigger pictures.

I'm with the others. I like the larger picture. The small one is OK but the larger one is more vivid and seems to fit the template better.

I think the bigger one looks better.

Dear Everyone who commented on the new size for photos in PICTURES JUST PICTURES. I really appreciated your comments and have re-styled the blog in response to them.

The only question now is whether the new page loads fast enough. It loads quickly on my computer - does it on yours? Again, feedback would be appreciated. We're all under the spell cast by manufacturers and providers so it may be that people on dial-up in remote areas who already had problems still will . . . but let me know anyway. I can reduce the number of pictures per page if necessary.

Thanks . . . and more . . .

Lucy

P.S.

Ron mentions clicking through to original posts. When pictures drop from the bottom of the page, they go into the Volumes. These can be be accessed from the side columns. If you click on a picture in a Volume . . . you are taken to the original post and can add comments to those which were left when it was first published.

Thanks for letting me know your loading time is ok, Karen. I'm pleased. There are some good blogs which I don't visit as often as I would like because they take too long to load - and I wouldn't want PICTURES JUST PICTURES to join that list!

Oh, I left a note on Dot's blog about how to resize pictures like this - I'm just about to be lazy and paste what I said there here.

"About the new Blogger Editor which allows you to post bigger pictures without mathematical re-sizing . . . if you go to 'Settings' - scroll down the 'Basics' page. Under 'Global Settings' you can chose 'Updated Editor'.

It changes several things so you might want to click to read the 'latest features' link before you chose it. I only changed today but I did some experimenting and it makes positioning pictures easier too. Haven't looked into the rest of the options (yet!)."

Hope that may be of interest / use to other blogspot users too.

Lucy
