The signs on the tarmac are on an old railway line which has been converted for pedestrians and bicycles. The point at which the photograph was taken is where the end of an old platform slopes down towards the track and the track is joined, at the same place, by a path which is coming initially from the opposite direction but which bends round - so they arrive at the same point. It's clear when you are there but the signs make a rather nice collection of indicators in a photograph. I expect car drivers find these photographs particularly perplexing because it all takes place in a smaller space than would be the case if cars were there too.
