I'm new to your blog. What an interesting rule, no close-up flowers. Down the throat of a blossom is my least fav thing to see on a blog, always reminds me of a seed catalog. I prefer to see the whole planting. You obviously know your plants.
It's not just flower close-ups . . . I try to avoid flowers altogether on this blog. Flowers and people! (Leaves are different.) In part, this is because I'm frightened of slipping into sentimentality and, in part, it's because there are lots of other bloggers doing flowers and people very, very well already.
(And really, I don't know much about plants!)
For people - may I recommend Mo's blog. (She has left a comment on this same post.) This is the link

You'll be finding lots of flower recommendations through Blotanical (!) but, come the autumn proper . . . my hedgerow blog
I took the photo of this canopy yesterday afternoon in the park. It was shading a little hut where ice-creams and coffees were on sale. All very holidayish and fun. Grey today though!

How I wish the sky was like that today. I like Canopies for some reason - very clever angle.
Hello Hermes.
What a difference a day makes!

what a wonderful blue sky!! sure a beautifl shady place unter the canopy
love the little bit of tattering on the canopy...it adds character.
Hello Bentonflocke.
It is very cheerful in the queue too . . . and there are sun-umbrellas to keep you in the shade when you sit at the tables outside.

Hello Marmee.
I agree about the tatty bits. It would be all too much straight lines without them.

It's been some time since my last visit but always a joy to see life through your artistic eye, Lucy. Love that you must live with camera near!
Hello Joey.
I haven't been posting over the summer; partly because I have been busy and partly because I have been getting used to my new camera.
This canopy photo makes me cheerful so I am glad it co-incided with your sunflowers.
