Hello Hermes and Karen.

It must have been quite difficult to get the palette up there!

It was roughly above my head when I took the photo of the market stalls for livestock

Lucky it was firmly placed!

Must be some local palette throwing contest Lucy. Better than cow pats anyway!

It could be an Art Installation. That this thought popped into my head does not reflect well on some modern art.

Easy Gardener - I like the idea of the Palette in the Rafters being some kind of art installation because it could only have been put there for my exclusive appreciation as there was no-one else there. It makes me feel like an inspiration . . . or a patron . . . or something (!).

I had a long and rather odd conversation with someone this evening who is convinced there is a dead, constipated goat wearing a knitted coat in the Tate Gallery. (Maybe there is!) What I wanted to know was how he knows it is constipated? What does a constipated goat look like? Aren't all dead things, in a sense, constipated? (We never got round to discussing what kind of knitted coat it's wearing - Fairisle perhaps? Aran?)

Hello Bentonflocke.

Sorry to take so long to reply to your comment. The weekend has faded from memory - but I expect it was a good one. It's the un-good ones which stick in the mind. Fortunately, not too many of those!

I seem to remember that at the beginning (?) of 'The Mill on the Floss', George Elliot says 'The happiest of women, like the happiest of nations, have no history'. Certainly, not a lot happens in my life! - Come to think of it though, I might be even happier if it did!
