Happy Mouffetard - the 'Go Stones' picture would have benefited from a sound track. I don't know if you play Go (?) but one of the important parts of it is to use a specially made, hollow, wooden board that makes a very satisfying 'tap' when you put the pieces on it. Children who find concentration difficult often take to Go. Maybe that rhythmic physicality of it has a meditative quality.
(It has the opposite effect on me . . . the sense of abject intellectual failure drives me wild and miserable. A sort of reverse magic!)
