Hello Hermes - no, I took it the day before yesterday, about twenty minutes before I took the photo of the two suns.

Amazing how such a tiny spot of color pops like that. We get ladybird infestations (or ladybugs as we call them in the USA) in our house about once a year. I think the one that invade our home are of the Japanese variety if I remember correctly.

Suzi - I'm glad you mentioned the variety of ladybird. It reminded me there is a ladybird survey in the UK (of as many as we see, regardless of variety but noting them) so I've put a link now beneath the picture.

The one in the photo is a five-spot but we also have a variety called the Harlequin whose presence, some think, may be endangering the indigenous species.
