It has such a beauty and I like the contrast against that very blue sky.

Bare branches against the blue sky. Beautiful.

I always think the interesting thing about this sort of picture is what I call the negative shapes - ie the shapes between the branches - sometimes these can be very interesting.

Hello Hermes and Blossom.

Today has been another blue sky day.

And there is a very different feel in the air too from when I took the tree photo (which was March 4th, the day before the most recent snow). At last, I think, spring has arrived. Daffodils seem to have come out all in a burst. There are buds on the nut bushes and leaves opening on the blackcurrents - but the oaks stay resolutly wintry.

Weaver of Grass. It's a good point, that about the negative shapes. Do you find with some pictures negative or positive predominates - or does your mind flip backwards and forwards between the two?

You can never have too many trees.

Hello Cat and Victoria.

I don't know if you have come across the blog 'à la recherche de l'Absolu...'. (Photographs.)

http://jeancouleurs.blogspot.com/

It's quite funny because even though the blog owner also has a separate blog called 'Trees'

http://mes-arbres.blogspot.com/

. . . BOTH blogs are photos of trees. I suppose trees just draw one in. As you say, Victoria, just can't have too many of them!
