Thank you Lucy for the lovely complement. I will be sure to show my husband, he told me that it was much to over the top. LOL.

Certainly not 'over the top'.

It's not 'flowery'. It sums a season clearly.

Ah, in case anyone else reads these comments and wonders what we are talking about, Jen started her post like this

'If winter is a hard land where nothing dares to grow'

. . . and I think that is like the start of a poem and is lovely.

I was thinking black hole in the universe for this photo! Pity the title gave it away!

I would not have guessed Top of the Rubbish Bin in a million years. I think this is an example of how wonderful it is to look at things through the camera's eye:)

Hello Brenda Jean

This is one of the nice things about taking photos - I can sit at home and 'look' at them in detail in the way I couldn't look at the objects themselves in 'real' life.

If I had stood by the rubbish bin itself . . . examining all the little dips and blobs, perhaps I might have had the nerve, but probably not. I know I would have become self-conscious and that would have spoiled it.

We don't have a very 'looking at things in detail' kind of society.
