Hello Everyone.

I'm glad you like the 'Holding Ice' photo.

The ice is being held by a ten year old boy - who was so excited to be in posession of such a wonderful find, I don't think he felt cold fingers at all!

Jan - he didn't fall in - though I toyed with the idea of calling the photo 'Under the Ice' - before I decided that might conjure up too gruesome an image . . . I already find the picture slightly disconcerting!

Catmint - I hope you aren't being affected by the fires.

VP - it's fun to collaborate!

Like it! Been interesting to do shots every few minutes but I guess the 10 year old might freeze (or you couldn't afford his fees?)

What's this about a collaboration? Have I been dumped?

Gordon - the posession of such a wonderful piece of ice was reward enough for said ten-year-old.

He took it home and inspected it in the garden every so often. As it melted (which took several hours) it kept its rectangular shape.

One of the things which interested him especially were that there were tiny green weeds attached to the underside. Unfortunately, they don't show.

And of course you aren't 'dumped' - keep sending the challenges . . . and

And everyone else too . . . suggest something I could picture here and have it linked to one of your own posts.

(Sometimes it takes a bit of time to set up . . . but it's an interesting exercise.)

Fascinating photo - and as you say, slightly disconcerting.
