From time to time, Gordon Mason (who frequently comments on this blog) has written poems inspired by the photos here and has posted them on - Catapault to Mars.

Recently, he suggested we do things round the other way for a change - I read one of his poems and take a picture to go with it.

Today - we have the result.

You can read the poem at

Hello Karen

I'm glad you think so.

It was fun to do.

I took this photo very soon after Gordon sent the poem . . . then floundered around for weeks because, although I like this picture, I wasn't sure it was right for this blog.

Now I've put it here at last and I'm pleased.

The photo works very well with the poem. That would be a challenge, and this succeeds. I love the collaboration.

What a good idea - the picture and poem are perfect together. The collaboration is an inspiring idea.

Hello Kanak and Philip and Easy Gardener.

I'm glad you all think the experiment of linking a picture with a poem 'worked'.

I'm thinking of throwing down the gauntlet and challenging anyone to say 'match a picture with this'!

It wouldn't have to be a poem. It could be a quote . . . or another kind of posting (and I wouldn't be able to guarentee I would succeed!) - but it would be fun to try . . . to get two angles on the same subject . . . and I would put a link from here to the related item on the other blog.

Anyone got any ideas?

Lucy

Can I just say thanks too for all the comments. It was good to hear that the collaboration idea worked!

And good luck, Lucy, with the challenge you have thrown down!
