I think sepia has such a gentle quality that any picture is restful. Even really old street scenes with lots of people in them seem to have an ethereal quality.

Interesting contrast between Zoe's comment and The Weaver of Grass.

To me, sepia (which often is gentle) renders this gentle, pastoral scene stark, even violent.

The atmosphere of the photo certainly is very different from the atmosphere of the place where I took it.
