Barbarapc - no grapes! Not one! And, no grapes, no wine! (Not that there would have been enough anyway!)

(Though the Madeleine d'Angevine vine is, indeed, one of those grown in the small British wine making industry.)

My guess (only a guess) is that there were problems with pollination this year - the insects arrived early because it was mild - then got 'rained off' when the flowers came out.

Elk - yes . . . nature gives us a lot of beautiful leaves in the autumn - but it also produces a plentiful supply of blotchy, crinkly, holey ones too! It's just that they don't often get the limelight!
