Lucy, I love that photo! The colors, and what a interesting contrast between the sky and the grass. Great shot!

Thanks Jen.

P.S. Does anyone call you 'Muddy Boots'? I know it refers to your dreams of living in the countryside - but it's such a friendly name for a person.

do you know who this plant is? Some sort of cortaderia, which-at least where I live-is known as a scourge to native ecosystems. This is very pretty!

Hello Rosa

Four times recently, I've tried to leave comments on your posts and four times I've been interrupted by life and have had to abandon the attempt - so I'll say 'hello' on this page before something happens again!

I don't know what the plant is.

A while back, Easy Gardener asked what the low growing plants by brackish water are. (An earlier post.) I didn't know the answer to that either but they are about a mile from each other. I'll have to swallow my pride and go to the nature centre soon and ask about both.

These grasses are growing on the steep banks beside Portland Harbour. (Sort of mini-cliffs.) I don't know if they cause trouble. I'll ask that too.

But that part of the shore line is already in danger of erosion from the sea. A few hundred metres out of the picture, to the right, a castle built by Henry Vlll is already half tumbled into the water.

I love the contrast of colors here, and the clarity is perfect.
