That is the most baffling picture I've seen for a long time (since I last went to Tate Modern!)

If you go to ALFRED'S WYKE you'll see what it looks like in real life.

The game 'Alfred's Wyke' is being introduced at the British Mind Sports Olympics which, by chance, is currently taking place at the Royal Horticultural Halls in London.

I provided a photo for the ALFRED'S WYKE blog header and made a 'jazzed up' version for 'Pictures Just Pictures' at the same time.

The shadows (in white) are cast by tomato plants. I think they give it a kind of oriental effect. (Especially because the black round pieces are Japanese 'GO' Stones.)

Ah... makes more sense now...your picture I mean not the instructions for the game. Which I can't follow.My fault.I have a low boredom threshold for board games.

It was noble of you, trying to read the rules!

It's a good and straightforward game if demonstrated by another human.

Rules written down for games can be dire, I agree.
