I'm sure I should see rust as a sign of decay - but I rather think it enlivens and enriches things; adds more interest.
As for carting this pole back to your garden - well, it's at the foot of a cliff, about eight feet tall and stuck in a two-ton concrete block with masses of embedded pebbles . . . I suppose you could try!

It has a sculptural quality to it. I would be sorely tempted to haul it off the beach and use it as a feature in my garden!
Love the colours again, rusting iron is always so pleasing to the eye.
I like the texture. It looks like a tree trunk with corners :-)
